So far, grand-parenting has been everything we could have hoped for. Ford was born in August, and we have enjoyed every photo, visit, and yes, every diaper!
A big reason we modified our "year abroad" into "a quarter-of-a-year-for-four-years-abroad" is because we did not want to miss out on our grandson's first year.
In a curious stroke of happenstance, our co-grandparents Robert and Kelley are living abroad at the moment as well. They invited us for a visit to their beautiful home in the small village of Schwedelbach, near Ramstein Airbase in Germany. We enjoyed our first Grand-parenting Summit over lots of great local food and a walking tour around the village and nearby Kaiseslautern. These are the ties that bind....
