Ron and I leave for the train station in a few hours, where we will take a high speed train to Frankfurt. Our three fifty-pound bags will share a hotel with us in Frankfurt, and then we will all fly home. It has been a bit stressful trying to make sure we are in compliance with the everchanging COVID requirements to return to the US. We think we have, but we will not truly relax until we are on the plane.
We just took a last walk through the neighborhood here in Erfurt. With over 70 churches, the bells have been ringing all morning. It is quite lovely to see all the fall colors in this beautiful medieval town, and hear the bells that have tolled for hundreds of years. Soon, we will hear the Home Church bell in Salem Square mark the hour and each quarter, and I know we will be home. The best journeys always lead us home.

Thank you for following this Blog! We would like to extend a special note of appreciation to my friend and fellow Stallion (De Sales High School, Columbus Ohio) Rose Shuler for her wonderful editorial insights. And to the singing duo Feeling Groovy (Andreas Gebhardt & Gerd Harnisch) for providing the final song for our final blog. Auf Wiedersehen, y'all!
