Our visit over Easter weekend was timed to coincide with the holiday, and to provide a little moral support to Becca as she makes her final push to finish her master's thesis.
Easter in Germany is one of the bigger “bank holidays”, comparable to Christmas. Most businesses, including stores and restaurants, are closed on Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday. This is a wonderful tradition, but it also meant that Saturday was our only day to squeeze in a bit of shopping. I can happily report that Becca and I made up for lost time! I don’t know if it is this way for all mothers and daughters, but for me, shopping with my girls is just one of those great joys of motherhood. Ron and Martin were good sports and served as our “sherpas” (Ron’s word), walking behind us all day and carrying our bags. Such fun!
