We could not leave Ireland without experiencing Dublin. As we wandered the streets, we came upon a beautiful bronze sculpture of the legendary Molly Malone - and I promptly got the song "Molly Malone" by the Dubliners stuck in my head! Click on the arrow below and walk with us through Dublin. Feel free to sing along.
Dublin was a wonderful mix of culture and grit, old and new, tradition and rebellion. It seems appropriate to end the Ireland portion of this blog with a quote from one of Dublin's greatest gifts to the world, William Butler Yeats:
"Being Irish, he had an abiding sense of tragedy,
which sustained him through temporary periods of joy".
Onward! To Scotland, we go!
